The First Time is Free

Young people in South East Northumberland are to create a play and workshop about child sexual exploitation.

In 2015, Open Clasp Theatre Company worked with young people in South East Northumberland to create a play and workshop about child sexual exploitation, which was performed to an audience of teachers, police and other professionals working to make change happen. This initiative is now being delivered by young people from St Benet Biscop Catholic High School, with support from the Northumberland Domestic Abuse Project and Arts Council England, to Year 9 students across 16 Northumberland High Schools in June and July 2017. The aim is to raise awareness of this issue and support change.

The West End Women & Girls Centre in Newcastle is also partnering.
