After an unforgettable live tour earlier this year, Rupture returns in a new form, a beautifully crafted film that captures the strength, pain, and courage of mothers in prison. Developed with women from HMP Low Newton, the screening circuit will give audiences a chance to experience their stories up close and reflect on the realities of motherhood behind bars.
Drawing directly from their lived experiences, Rupture brings their voices to the forefront, voices too often silenced. It is an honest, emotional, and hopeful exploration of what it means to be an incarcerated mother and the urgent need to protect and uphold the rights of women in prison.
With around 60% of women in prison being mothers (PRiP 2023), Rupture shines a vital light on the challenges these women face and asks important questions about how we, as a society, can do better.
Praised by The Stage as “a sensitive and thoughtful look at being a mother in prison,” the film has already moved audiences across the region. Following a sold out live tour in March 2025, the Rupture Screening Circuit this October invites audiences to reconnect with these powerful stories in a new way.
Join us and be part of a growing movement to amplify women’s voices and call for revolution.
Do not miss your chance to experience Rupture.
