Arts Administrator
Salary: NJC Scale 6 – £19,171 pro rata
Part Time: 21hrs
Award-winning women’s theatre company Open Clasp is looking to appoint an Arts Administrator at a very exciting time for the company. Founded in 1998, the company is part of the National Portfolio of Organisations funded by Arts Council England.
Open Clasp makes truthful, risk taking and award-winning theatre informed by the lived experiences of women, women disenfranchised in theatre and society, those from minority communities and women affected by the criminal justice system.
Open Clasp is at a unique moment in its history. Having taken our work to new heights, achieving great success with Key Change at the Edinburgh Fringe and off-Broadway in 2015-16, our work has been catapulted onto a national and global stage, taking the marginalised female voices and the artistic excellence of the North to new audiences and decision makers, demonstrating the power of theatre and championing the stories and creativity of the region on a major scale.
Our Values:
- To collaborate with some of the country’s most marginalised women and young women, placing their lived experience at the centre of our creative processes
- Ensure the voices of those women are heard by audiences including policy makers
- Make space for discussion, debate and critical conversations
- Promote respect, equality and inclusion
We are looking for a team player with excellent administration skills to manage the day to day running of the office of Open Clasp, a busy and thriving women’s theatre company. We need somebody who will have a flexible and adaptable approach, be able to multi-task and work well under pressure using their initiative and ensuring the smooth operation of the company. If you think you’ve got the skills for the job, we’d like to meet you.
Due to the nature of our work the post is open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1). We are committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone.
If you can provide the expertise we are looking for, we really want to hear from you. Please download Full Application Pack below. For queries please call 0191 272 4063 and ask to speak to Rachel.
