"Oscar winning performance from all the cast"
Swags & Tails is now in the fifth week of its seven week tour. This week we're proud to be helping community groups around the region celebrate International Women's week with their own performances and drama workshops. Next week we perform at venues including Alnwick Playhouse and Darlington Arts Centre, both of which still have tickets available. Don't miss it - click on tour dates on the Swags & Tails page to find out how to book your ticket for a venue near you. You can see an interview with one of the women who informed the pay on Look North tomorrow (1.30pm and 6.30pm BBC 1, Tuesday 6th March)
Audience members say:
"A good eye opener to what people don't see every day and how we look at it."
"Perform this to the full council in chambers! Incredibly powerful and real."
"Great insight into carers and assumptions about roles/gender. Particularly poignant about older women and lonliness."
"Very risky - who wants to see anything about dementia? Almost left at interval coz depressing but so glad I stayed. Fantastic job. Very daring theatre and well executed and acted."
"Incredibly realistic - It's only getting worse - lack of funds = lack of compassion. Really appreciated lesbian awareness and issues being brought up. It's invisible within care system."
"Open Clasp’s work shows a grass roots radicalism and genuine commitment, coupled with professionalism"
"moving, funny and brilliantly acted... thought-provoking and heart-warming."
"At once endearing, hilarious, passionate and tear-jerking."
"Open Clasp is truly a treasure of the north east that must be supported and encouraged to become a treasure of the nation"
"Open Clasp have the balls, the brains and above all, the sense of humour, to tackle issues in a fresh and beguiling way"
